The Pilot Project of Pharmacist Service For People with Intellectual Disabilities T
Project Brief

People with Intellectual Disabilities (PwID) have been identified as being among“the most medicated groups in society” with rates of prescriptions and polypharmacy exceeding those of the general population. MHAHK was supported by The Community Chest of Hong Kong Social Innovation Fund to implement a three year project named “Pilot Project of Pharmacist Service for People with Intellectual Disabilities”. This project is to address the needs on pharmacist services to advance quality of life for PWID through maintaining and improving their health with advisable medication. Service content includes medical review, consultation service as well as medication education programme for professional, frontline staff, PWID and their caregivers to enhance their knowledge and understanding of the medication management.
