Jockey Club Health Support Project for Persons with Disabilities
Project Brief


The Kwun Tong Sheltered Workshop, supported by a grant from The Hong Kong Jockey Club, will undertake a "Modernization Project" in 2024. The aim of the project is to create a comfortable and safe working environment to promote the physical, mental, and social development of persons with intellectual disabilities and person in recovery. The project emphasizes providing vocational development opportunities through strengths-based training, which will support upward mobility, diversification, and income generation. Specialized equipment will also be introduced to develop a suitable living space for aging service users to participate in. Following the modernization works, the workshop will collaborate with the Department of Rehabilitation Sciences of the Hong Kong Polytechnic University to launch a " Jockey Club Health Support Project for Persons with Disabilities ". This aims to improve the health status of service users and slow the deterioration of their physical functions through support, early identification, and preventive measures.
