The Mental Health Association of Hong Kong (MHAHK) has cooperated with Zurich Insurance (Hong Kong), and received a grant of HK$8.33 million from the Zurich Foundation, to launch a three-year youth mental health project “Chill Lab” in April 2023.
Chill Lab targeted service users include youth, parents, school personnel and the public. The project aims to enhance the mental well-being of adolscents and increase public awareness of the youth mental health. It is expected that over half of all the secondary schools in Hong Kong will benefit from this project.
This project set up the first experimental youth mental health gaming space – “Youth Hub” in Hong Kong, using innovative technologies through augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR). Implement mental health courses in secondary school and provide community education activities, to promote the idea of mental wellness among youth and the public.
